Do you have a favorite photo, piece of art, or fabric that you love? Chances are, one of the things you love about it are the colors.
My favorite project in college was in my Color Theory class. We had to take 24 different photographs of anything we chose. Then we had to identify what colors made up each of the photos, creating 24 different color palettes.
This project made me realize that color inspiration can come in all forms, shapes, sizes, and locations. Here are a couple of examples….my favorite Italy photo with the terra cotta orange, yellow, and deep maroon buildings along the turqouise water….

and a beautiful Tulsa spring day with all the different shades of green, hints of magenta and fushia from the red bud trees, and brilliant blues from the sky.
