After a long vacation, I returned last night to a house in chaos, the good kind.
My sweet husband came home early to begin a project years in the making — redecorating our master bedroom.
In a few weeks, our sad, dull bedroom will hopefully look more like one of these updated and fresh spaces. I’ve been dreaming up bedroom inspiration for weeks now, thanks to my Pinterest addiction.

My favorite neutral — and probably my favorite color in general — is gray. We renovated our master bath last year, and used gray and white tile, with a smoky-purplish paint color, called Wet Cement.
So for my bedroom walls, I naturally selected another gray tone, called Driftwood from Martha Stewart Living paint.

Gray is the perfect base to let some great colors — such as berry, yellow-green or orange — do their jobs, adding a bright and fun way to wake up every day.
And by adding the right accessories, such as a great old trunk or a funky doorknob plate, you can create a knockout room all of your own.

My project is far from finished, but I’m having such a great time that it’s worth the displaced clothes, the paint drips on the floor and the cranky pets.
Happy bedroom dreaming!

Would love to see a picture of your master bath colors and tile! We are getting ready to start a renovation and your colors sound beautiful!
