Clutter. It’s a monster that keeps on giving in my home. Magazines, mail, newspapers, Netflix envelopes, coupons, my husband’s mail pile. It never ends!
There are pretty much only three ways to organize: Hide, purge or display.
So that’s why I’ve been searching for some inventive ways to present all my stuff. Fall has officially arrived, usually my busiest season, so adding anything at this point must be simple and inexpensive.
My kitchen could easily use these two clever ideas for repurposing items.
I have a small basket by my front door that I dump my keys and other things in every day. But this idea is much more attractive, organized and — most importantly — easy for me to pull off.

And this display is really inspired for the ever-challenging task of pantry organization — it’s a metal magazine file. How many times have I searched in vain for a can of chicken broth? A million.

Books and magazines are always a problem at my house. I think I currently have seven or eight magazine subscriptions, and my hubby likes to collect books that never get read. Here’s a very cool, industrial look for a book shelf. I’m sure it would look great in a man cave.

Keeping on theme with the lovely (but let’s face it, messy) man in your life, these cool wire crates would be another good solution for keeping clutter to a minimum while displaying this important stuff. Notice the sports equipment, which is also a good solution for the little ones’ equipment.

And finally, my magazine issue, pun intended. This is a great idea I found on Pinterest. Just find a well designed wine rack, roll up those magazines and you have an instant solution. Also, it provides a great system for recycling. When it’s full, it’s time to purge.
