It was recently pointed out to me that I have quite an eclectic collection of lamps. I’m a big fan of the usage of lamps. Overhead lights that come with the standard ceiling fan or in a new, ‘blank slate’ home tends to give off a harsh light and can cast some unappealing shadows, in my opinion. Incandescent light complements skin tones (i.e.: making people look more attractive) so much better than halogen or fluorescent. (Of course, you can choose a compact fluorescent bulb with a warm color temperature to mimic incandescent, too.) I much prefer the cozy, home-y feel that the glow of a lamp creates. Recessed canned light, can be lovely, too. But until I can get around to having them installed in my living room, I will enjoy the soft lamp light.
Here are the funky, colorful (and thrifty!) lamps currently residing in my living room:
Remember the Tulsa Designer Showcase I mentioned here back in May? Well, I got this one at the Showcase’s boutique for $9.00! The shade is from Target.

This one was picked up for $3.00 (base and shade, but I’d like to replace the shade) at a garage sale benefitting Triumphant Ministries.

About a year and a half ago, I fell in love with the unique and quirky character of this lamp, whose shade appears to be upside-down (but isn’t), that I found at the Moberly Antique Mall. I believe it was about $20.00. This past Fall, I also picked up some other lovelies, that I shared here, on this quaint Main Street .

And finally, I snagged this interesting lamp at a local thrift store – Quality Thrift Store – for $14.00. I still haven’t decided if I love it because it’s so ugly or can’t stand it because it’s so ugly. It currently sits in my craft room/office without a shade. It’s my work in progress.

love the eclectic mix!
WANT that blue lamp. You know, whenever you’re done with it
LOVE the green lamp!! def not the ugly duckling of your eclectic collection! can’t wait to see what kind of shade it ends up with!
PS I’m keeping my eyes peeled for fun, funky lamps you need…. or I need…. or Briana needs!
