It seems like quite a while since I’ve posted any home improvements lately, but that doesn’t mean this house isn’t still (and always) a work in progress! I’ve been on the lookout for a headboard for my bed since I moved in almost a year ago. I wanted something other than a standard headboard, and I needed it to be tall because my bed sits high off the floor.
Then, a couple of weeks ago, a friend posted on Facebook that her restaurant supply company had recently bought all the equipment and decor from an establishment that had gone under. They wanted to sell some of the stuff they had acquired, so she posted a flyer with a few items that needed to go. I just glanced at the pieces up for grabs, and – lo and behold – found my new headboard!
I claimed it quickly and picked it up the following week. I just placed it in its new home, and thought I’d share it with you and get your opinion!
What do you think? Like it? Should I paint it? Find something completely different? I’m interested to know your thoughts!

I love the color of the wood. It looks great. I would update the bedding with bright colors, but that’s just me. Love it!
I like the wood w/ the bedding pictured. the only way I’d suggest painting it would be a full on riot of ‘cantina colours’,(know what I mean?) & that is a pretty specific look.ummm,was the supply co on 41st perhaps? is there more good stuff left?

Super cool find! The wood is beautiful. Because of all the detail it could be great painted a fun color….but then that would require new bedding. The wood looks great with what you have! Love finds like that!!!
AWESOME!!! Love it! It’s a pretty safe guess that I’m a sucker for painted wood…. BUT that wood is so pretty!! AND I know you love your bedding…. SO what if you just punched up the wall color a bit?? And or added some bright contrasting pillows??? Or pops of color all around? Lamp shades? Picture frames? Bedside tables? SOOOO many fun things you could do with it!
The brown goes great with your bedding. Very pretty!
Dawn, you have cool vision! My mom thought it was ugly. I loved the wood, but could only imagine it as a screen! I can’t wait to show my mom how this turned out!
