For no particular reason, I just like the image above. Colors + Cake, what can be wrong with that? Maybe it’s my new diet, but I can’t stop thinking about food this week. Only my sense of restraint kept my Pinterest boards from filling up with pretty pictures recipes that I will never, ever attempt (although a few crept on for the photography alone!). With bare arm season here and my “just had a baby” excuse wearing thin, it’s time to get serious…so my recipe browsing will be on my new favorite site, Skinnytaste (am I late to the party on that or what?).
Between cravings, I found a few (non-edible) goodies online:
Maybe the cutest kids photobooth ever.
Just ’cause: Glow in the Dark Driveway.
Great DIY from a local blogger/designer/aspiring TV star, a Painted Glass Tabletop.
OK, a little food: Blackberry Fennel Pizza. I AM making this one.
This morning, the kiddo and I are headed over to a cool event here in Tulsa, a tour of “The Citation”, Tulsa’s very own Atomic Ranch. Since moving into Lortondale, I’ve loved getting involved with the Modern Tulsa group and learning more about Mid Century Modern homes in our area, and this is one I can’t wait to see! If you’re in town, head over!

Just moved to Tulsa — happy to have discovered this blog/mag! The painted glass tabletop is amazing, I might have to give that a try.
Welcome to Tulsa Lisa! We are glad you found Prairie Hive as well!
Your blog is great too! Please keep in touch – we love to meet other local bloggers, we are always looking for people to collaborate with!
#1 I love skinnytaste. My favorite go to website for recipes b/c i know they are healthy….and tasty!
#2 I totally pinned that same blackberry fennel pizza pic as well! perhaps a taste testing at a PH meeting should be done!
Hey Prairie Hive girls! I am glad you liked the tabletop. We are on the hunt for some more tables to paint, because it is so easy.
Let us know if you need taste testers or have left overs when you make the pizza. It looks delish.
I’ll keep my eyes out! Loved the pattern…if only I had the patience.
