I had the pleasure of giving a bit of crafty help to decorate a baby girl shower in pink and orange a few weeks ago for a dear friend. In the midst of all that makes life crazy and busy, difficult and emotional, celebrating new life with lovely people is a welcome respite from the grind.
For a bit of a departure from a cake, my crafty counterpart and ultimate party hostess Taylor, put together this sweet diaper bouquet. This made a great large-scale bouquet that could hold it’s own as the stand-alone décor in the open plan living room.
These cake balls were just as yummy as they look with their festive straws and simple ribbon ties. Knots on the ribbons instead of bows keep things from getting too sweet and adding lots of white in our hot and bright color scheme help keep things balanced.
Some of the best party ideas are the most simple yet still pay off with loads of satisfaction. You must make these chocolate dipped rice krispie treats! Just looking at the photo makes me want more.
Easy grab and go treats kept party-goers coming back for more. I noticed lots of treats-on-a-stick were picked up by the handful and carried to the guys outside for sharing.
I made three tiny little tutus originally planned to drape from fireplace mantle, but we loved how the sun glowed behind them on the window. These are so cute and recommend anyone make a tutu garland for a baby girl shower. They can be re-used for baby photos and play time later on. I paired mine with some fabric tassels, but in hindsight wish I would have made lots more tassels (gold!) so I could’ve had a longer tassel-only garland to hang below the tutu garland.
No party’s complete without at least one live bouquet. Whether you grab something from the yard or stick with some bright, happy stand-bys like gerberas, you can’t go wrong.
Last but not least, give your guests a little take home that does double duty brightening up the entry during the party. Color coordinated jelly beans, m&ms, skittles or any other little “melt in your mouth” candies in cellophane bags are quick, easy and tasty.
