People ask all the time why I blog, when there are so many other things to get done…and this (above) is pretty much the answer. Over the weekend, we had a Tulsa Blogger Meetup for those of us around town that blog about design, food, DIY, fashion…pretty much anything that falls into that “lifestyle” category. We invited a few online friends, and opened it up to anyone else that wanted to attend – and were so pleased with the group that showed up! As I chatted with all these wonderful ladies, we all just kept saying, ” I had no idea there were this many bloggers in Tulsa!”.
Over the last couple of years, working on the blog has introduced me to so many great people that I would have never otherwise met, put me into circles I would have never joined otherwise, and been the pathway to some great collaborations and friendships. Seeing this group get together in person (many of us are Instagram buddies so we feel like we know one another!) was a great reminder of why we do what we do. As we chatted about challenges, triumphs and ideas, there was such a feeling of kindred spirits – I think for all of us, the desire to share, do more, and challenge ourselves creatively is what pushes us forward and makes us continue to spend the time, energy, and yes, money – to carry on.
I look forward to many more meetings with this fun, creative group of women (and any men that may be out there blogging!) in the future!
Our meetup was hosted by the lovely ladies at Retro Den - their shop is the perfect space to socialize (and browse!). Saturday morning was the perfect time for brunchy snacks, including my new favorite thing – Lick Your Lips Mini Donuts. Mimosas were, of course – in order, and a good time was had by all!
Here’s a quick list (with links!) of everyone in attendance, in case you want to check out some great new Tulsa based blogs!
